In March and April will be held two unmissable workshops as part of the Funicular Project * A Training Project on Puppetry at Theatre São Luiz - the registrations are open!
-CREATING VISUAL STORIES - FROM OBJECT TO SCREEN
22 to 24 March 2024 (Fri to Sun)
Directed by: Pauline Kalker - Hotel Modern
A workshop with Pauline Kalker, artistic director and one of the founders of the renowned company Hotel Modern.
Based on the working method of the group Hotel Modern, the participants are challenged to create puppets and characters with everyday objects. Work on the different voices and possible types of movement and, from there, to create short visual stories.

The renowned choreographer, dancer and puppeteer Duda Paiva is pioneer of a new concept that encourages and extends the body language of the actor, combining contemporary dance and puppet manipulation with movement and voice as narrative tools directed by one mind. This concept establishes a deeper connection between the object and the manipulator and creates a poetic and fluid illusion.
